Refunds and cancellations
In the event that you are unable to attend part of or the entire term due to illness, holidays or otherwise, Happy Cubs are not obliged to offer you a refund. If you cancel your booking at any time prior to 14 days before the course begins, we will refund you the course fee minus a €4 booking fee. If you cancel within 14 days prior to the commencement date (up to 8am the day before) we will issue you with a refund minus a €20 administration charge. Once a term has started, we regret that we cannot issue refunds or credits.
In the instance that the pool or venue cannot be used in the short term (up to 1 week), if possible, we will offer you alternative class options in another venue. In the event of Happy Cubs having to cancel a class with no alternative lesson option, we will issue you with a credit against your next term’s fees or a refund of the class cost.
Where a pool/venue is not available on a longer term basis (more than 1 week) due to reasons outside our control (e.g. a pool closure), we cannot be responsible for providing any further lessons to you during that time. If this occurs, we will refund you with the unused balance of your course fees or credit the unused balance of course fees against a future terms fees.
Where Happy Cubs classes are stopped by a government directive (eg: pandemic or red weather warning), Music Cubs classes may be held online until it is safe to return to classes. Swim Cubs term will be paused and resumed when safe to do so. Alternatively, credit may be offered for any missed classes which can be used against future terms. Unfortunately, Happy Cubs cannot issue refunds in this instance.
*MAKE-UP CLASSES ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE DUE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES*
We offer a make-up class option as an alternative for missed lessons if your child is unwell or you're going on holidays during the term.
You can use up to a maximum of two make-up classes per term. This is on the condition that you let us know in advance and if there is availability in another pool location. If you want to book into a make-up class, please email us to check if there is availability first. We will do our best to accommodate you with your preferred make-up class time however it will not always be possible if classes are full. Please note you cannot carry forward make-up classes into a new term.
We hope you understand we cannot offer you a refund for any class your baby misses due to illness, holidays or otherwise.
All babies and toddlers must wear both a swim nappy with a neoprene nappy on top. Swim Cubs reserves the right to refuse entry to any baby and toddler who is not wearing the appropriate swimwear.
While you may be confident that your toddler is potty trained, our policy is that a toddler needs to be at least 6 months potty trained before they stop wearing the double nappy system: swim nappy & neoprene happy nappy.
If your toddler is at least 6 months potty trained, then you do not need to use the swim nappy. Please note that babies or toddlers wearing a wetsuit must still wear a swim nappy and neoprene happy nappy underneath.
We can’t accept payment by cash at venues to avoid person to person contact. You can buy swimwear from our online shop to collect at the pool.
If you forget to bring your bear cub’s swim nappy to class, we can give you a new nappy at the pool, and send you a payment link by email to pay for your nappy. We regret that we cannot lend nappies for classes or take nappy returns.
Do not change your baby or toddler on any raised surfaces such as benches to reduce risk of injury.
Happy Cubs is not responsible for the disposal of nappies after lessons. Please dispose of dirty nappies in the designated nappy bins provided in each changing room. If you borrow a neoprene happy nappy from the teacher, please leave it on the poolside at the end of the class or with your meeter & greeter before you leave.
Swim Cubs cannot accept any responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal belongings. To avoid losing valuable jewellery in the water we advise removing all jewellery before entering the pool. All property left in changing rooms or on poolside is left at your own risk. This includes all property left in reception areas outside changing rooms or outside the venue entrance e.g. buggies/car seats.
If any baby and toddler, or guardian taking a baby or toddler to a class, has any known or suspected medical condition, we ask that you please consult your doctor before attending our classes. Please inform Happy Cubs of any medical conditions at time of booking or, if at a later date, in writing by email. We promise all information received will be treated with sensitivity and in complete confidence.
Please do not attend a Happy Cubs class if you or your child are feeling unwell.
Common symptoms of coronavirus include:
- a fever (high temperature - 38 degrees or above)
- a cough - this can be any kind of cough, not just dry
- shortness of breath or breathing difficulties
- loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
Please do not bring your baby or toddler to class if they have any of the following illnesses:
- ear infection
- a bad cold
Always ask your doctor if it’s ok to return to swimming/music classes after an illness.
If your child has been vomiting and/or had diarrhoea, your child must be clear of all symptoms for at least 48 hours before attending a lesson.
Please do not take any photos during your class. If you want to take a photo of your bear cub in the pool or at a Music Cubs class, please move over to the side and take a photo with no other bear cubs or mama & papa bears in the background.
Please don’t post any photos of other bear cubs on social media. Happy Cubs will always inform you before any planned photography by our team.
From time to time we use photographs to promote lessons on our social media and website. This will never be done without your consent.
